However, during part-time work, the 40\u2011day and 170\u2011day thresholds for staggering are reached more slowly.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><strong>Example:<\/strong><br><em>Your full daily allowance is EUR 70 per day. You work part-time so that you receive adjusted daily allowance of EUR 35 per day for the period of work. In this case, it takes 80 days to reach the 40\u2011day staggering threshold.<\/em><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>When the daily allowance is reduced at the same time due to earned income from part-time work and staggering, the reduction due to staggering is applied first, followed by the reduction based on earned income. You can estimate the amount of your daily allowance after reductions due to staggering and earned income using the Finnish Unemployment Funds\u2019 (TYJ) daily allowance calculator.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/div><\/details><details class=\"wp-block-details is-style-custom-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary class=\"wp-block-details__summary has-link-color wp-elements wp-block-post-title has-text-color has-primary-color-color has-large-font-size has-inter-font-family\">Can I receive a mobility allowance?<\/summary><div class=\"wp-block-details__content\"><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>A mobility allowance compensates for travel and moving costs caused by accepting a job.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>A mobility allowance may be paid if you accept an employment relationship or part-time work that lasts at least two months. In full-time work, your daily commute must take more than three hours, and in part-time work more than two hours to be eligible for the allowance. The allowance is paid only for actual days worked.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Part-time work means work in which the working time is no more than 80% of the maximum working time in the sector. For example, if the maximum working time is 37.5 hours per week, work is still considered part-time at 30 hours per week. A mobility allowance may also be granted for work-related training if the training is connected to employment lasting at least two months. The training must be arranged by the employer or acquired by the employer from another provider.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Payment of the mobility allowance requires that:<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:list -->\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><!-- wp:list-item -->\n<li>you are entitled to an unemployment benefit immediately before starting work or work-related training<\/li>\n<!-- \/wp:list-item -->\n\n<!-- wp:list-item -->\n<li>your daily commute or travel related to work-related training exceeds three hours per day in full-time work or two hours per day in part-time work<\/li>\n<!-- \/wp:list-item -->\n\n<!-- wp:list-item -->\n<li>the employment relationship lasts at least two months<\/li>\n<!-- \/wp:list-item --><\/ul>\n<!-- \/wp:list -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>If you think you may be entitled to a mobility allowance, please contact us via the Member Pages.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/div><\/details><details class=\"wp-block-details is-style-custom-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary class=\"wp-block-details__summary has-link-color wp-elements wp-block-post-title has-text-color has-primary-color-color has-large-font-size has-inter-font-family\">Increasing your insurance level by more than 20%<\/summary><div class=\"wp-block-details__content\"><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>You may increase your insurance level within 15 months by up to 20% so that the increase takes effect immediately in the calculation basis of your earnings-related daily allowance.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>If you increase your insurance level by more than 20%, we cannot take into account the part of the increase that exceeds 20% in the calculation of your earnings-related daily allowance until you have maintained the new insurance level for at least 15 months.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>In other words, if you raise your insurance level by more than 20%, you must maintain the increased level for at least 15 months for the portion exceeding 20% to be included in the calculation basis of your earnings-related daily allowance.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/div><\/details><details class=\"wp-block-details is-style-custom-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary class=\"wp-block-details__summary has-link-color wp-elements wp-block-post-title has-text-color has-primary-color-color has-large-font-size has-inter-font-family\">A long absence from the labour market may put your unemployment security at risk<\/summary><div class=\"wp-block-details__content\"><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The work requirement you have accrued remains valid as long as you are not absent from the labour market without an acceptable reason for more than six months. If your absence from the labour market without an acceptable reason lasts longer than six months, the work requirement will lapse and must be fulfilled again after you return to the labour market.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><strong>You are considered to be available to the labour market when you:<\/strong><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:list -->\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><!-- wp:list-item -->\n<li>carry out work that counts towards the work requirement, either as an entrepreneur or as an employee<\/li>\n<!-- \/wp:list-item -->\n\n<!-- wp:list-item -->\n<li>participate in an employment-promoting service<\/li>\n<!-- \/wp:list-item -->\n\n<!-- wp:list-item -->\n<li>are registered as an unemployed jobseeker with the employment authority<\/li>\n<!-- \/wp:list-item --><\/ul>\n<!-- \/wp:list -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><strong>An absence from the labour market is considered acceptable, for example, when you are:<\/strong><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:list -->\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><!-- wp:list-item -->\n<li>ill or undergoing rehabilitation<\/li>\n<!-- \/wp:list-item -->\n\n<!-- wp:list-item -->\n<li>a full-time student or receiving a grant<\/li>\n<!-- \/wp:list-item -->\n\n<!-- wp:list-item -->\n<li>on maternity, paternity or parental leave<\/li>\n<!-- \/wp:list-item -->\n\n<!-- wp:list-item -->\n<li>at home caring for a child under the age of 3<\/li>\n<!-- \/wp:list-item --><\/ul>\n<!-- \/wp:list --><\/div><\/details><details class=\"wp-block-details is-style-custom-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary class=\"wp-block-details__summary has-link-color wp-elements wp-block-post-title has-text-color has-primary-color-color has-large-font-size has-inter-font-family\">Accumulation of days of earnings-related allowance<\/summary><div class=\"wp-block-details__content\"><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>We pay up to 300, 400 or 500 days of earnings-related daily allowance, depending on your situation. If you are entirely without work, each day of paid unemployment allowance counts for one day towards the maximum number of days. Also, if your unemployment allowance is paid at a reduced rate because you are receiving some other benefit (such as part-time disability pension), each day counts towards one day towards the maximum.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>When we pay an adjusted daily allowance, the maximum number of days is used proportion to the number of days we pay you the allowance.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Example:<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Your full unemployment allowance is \u20ac70 per day. You work part-time and receive an adjusted allowance of \u20ac35 per day. In this case, you use 10 days towards the maximum days over an application period of 20 days.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/div><\/details><details class=\"wp-block-details is-style-custom-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary class=\"wp-block-details__summary has-link-color wp-elements wp-block-post-title has-text-color has-primary-color-color has-large-font-size has-inter-font-family\">Staggering of allowance and the minimum rule<\/summary><div class=\"wp-block-details__content\"><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Earnings-related daily allowance has a minimum amount. The amount of earnings-related daily allowance paid is always at least the amount of the basic allowance. Staggering , (i.e. the reduction of the earnings-related daily allowance in two stages) does not apply to the basic allowance.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>If the amount of the daily allowance before the differentiation is equal to the basic allowance, the staggering is not applied to the daily allowance.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/div><\/details><details class=\"wp-block-details is-style-custom-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary class=\"wp-block-details__summary has-link-color wp-elements wp-block-post-title has-text-color has-primary-color-color has-large-font-size has-inter-font-family\">What is meant by the periodisation of sales profits?<\/summary><div class=\"wp-block-details__content\"><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>You are not entitled to earnings-related unemployment allowance for the period over which we periodise profits from the sale of business assets related to the closure of your business activities.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Sales profits may arise, for example, from the sale of shares, a partnership interest, a business or corporate assets. Sales profits may also arise from unsold business assets or those taken into your own use .<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Possible sales profits are investigated and periodised after you have ended your business activities. Sales profits are periodised according to the work income on which the earnings-related daily allowance is based. This means that we compare the sales profits with the annual earned income used as the basis of your daily allowance. Periodisation postpones the start of the maximum days which you can be paid earnings-related allowance based on how long it would have taken to accrue the sales profit using your monthly earned income. Profits from the sale of business assets are<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>periodised over a maximum period of 24 months. However, sales profits are not periodised if your company has been in business for no more than 18 months or if the balance sheet total of your company\u2019s final financial year minus liabilities does not exceed 20,000 euros. If you were not obligated to keep a balance sheet, we will use the inventory of business assets and liabilities instead.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/div><\/details><details class=\"wp-block-details is-style-custom-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary class=\"wp-block-details__summary has-link-color wp-elements wp-block-post-title has-text-color has-primary-color-color has-large-font-size has-inter-font-family\">Why are sales profits examined?<\/summary><div class=\"wp-block-details__content\"><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>According to chapter 3, section 7 of the Unemployment Security Act, you are not entitled to earnings-related unemployment allowance for the period over which profits from the sale of business assets related to the closure of your business activities are periodised. When your business closes down, the Fund needs to investigate whether you have obtained sales profits from the business.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/div><\/details><details class=\"wp-block-details is-style-custom-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary class=\"wp-block-details__summary has-link-color wp-elements wp-block-post-title has-text-color has-primary-color-color has-large-font-size has-inter-font-family\">Accumulation of earnings-related daily allowance days<\/summary><div class=\"wp-block-details__content\"><!-- wp:paragraph {\"translatedWithWPMLTM\":\"1\"} -->\n<p>We will pay up to 300, 400 or 500 days of earnings-related daily allowance, depending on your situation. When you are completely unemployed, each day of unemployment you pay will count for one day against that maximum period. However, please indicate on your daily allowance application if you are ill. Also you should check whether you may be eligible for sickness allowance. You can apply for sickness allowance from Kela or, in some cases, from your insurance company.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Unemployment allowance is not paid for longer periods of illness or more permanent incapacity for work. The unemployment allowance can be paid by the Entrepreneur Fund for the days that are part of the Kela sickness allowance waiting period. If the illness continues after this period, you will only receive Kela's sickness allowance, not unemployment security. Notify the employment official of your illness.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>If your illness is serious enough to require hospital or other institutional care, please also mention this in your application. When you are in institutional care, you are legally unavailable for work. During this period, you are not entitled to income-related daily allowance.  <\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Send a daily allowance application to the fund for the waiting period of sickness allowance paid by Kela. The fund receives the sickness allowance data directly from Kela. If you fall ill as an entrepreneur, please apply for sickness allowance from Kela. Kela pays sickness allowance up to a maximum of 300 working days.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Apply to us for a reduced membership fee (\u20ac 3 per month) for periods of sick leave of more than one month. Entitlement to a reduced membership fee starts from the next full calendar month. As a general rule, we continue to pay the daily allowance until the end of the calendar month in which you turn 65. You can resign from the Entrepreneur Fund by messaging us on your personal profile page or by filling in and submitting the resignation form. If your YEL-income or MYEL-income or TyEL salary is below \u20ac15,481 (at 2026 levels) or if your pension insurance is not valid, you cannot accrue new work requirement months. However, by maintaining the membership in the fund, you can retain the work requirement you have previously accumulated. As a general rule, the months of work requirement accrued before the reduced fee will remain valid as long as they fit into the last 48 months.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>In the above situations, you can apply for a reduced membership fee on your membership page. Please attach to your application a certificate from your insurance company confirming your annual income from YEL-\/MYEL insurance or (the employer's) certificate of salary (TyEL insured). The remaining part of the allowance is financed by the Entrepreneur Fund itself.<br><br>For wage-earner funds, funding consists of both the state\u2019s contribution and a contribution from the Employment Fund. Wage-earner funds are responsible for 5.5% of the earnings-related allowance, whereas the Entrepreneur Fund is responsible for approximately 40%.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>In addition, the equalisation fund of the Entrepreneur Fund must be significantly larger than that of wage-earner funds. To safeguard the funding and liquidity of the Entrepreneur Fund, the equalisation fund must meet a minimum level confirmed by the Financial Supervisory Authority (250%). This means that the Entrepreneur Fund must be able to cover its administrative costs and the benefit expenditure for which it is responsible for two and a half years without any membership fee income. For wage-earner funds, the required level of the equalisation fund is 100%.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Due to these differences in funding structures, the membership fee of the Entrepreneur Fund is higher than that of wage-earner funds. <\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/div><\/details><details class=\"wp-block-details is-style-custom-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary class=\"wp-block-details__summary has-link-color wp-elements wp-block-post-title has-text-color has-primary-color-color has-large-font-size has-inter-font-family\">How much does fund membership cost?
