4. Purpose and legal basis for processing personal data

The Entrepreneur Fund processes your data on the basis of the Unemployment Allowances Act and the Unemployment Fund Act. In addition, the Entrepreneur Fund may process your personal data on the basis of other mandatory legislation. In addition, the Entrepreneur Fund has legitimate interests related to the performance of its activities, such as further development of its activities and investigation of possible abuses, and your personal data may also be processed on these grounds.

The data is primarily used for benefit processing to verify the service transaction. The data may also be used to train the customer service staff of the Entrepreneur Fund in order to improve the quality of service.

5. What information can we collect?

The Entrepreneur Fund records incoming calls. Calls are automatically recorded and the data content is the information provided by the customer or, in the case of back-up calls, by the service advisor, for example:

  • Call time
  • Call duration
  • ID of the handler who handled the call
  • Name
  • Member number
  • Social ID
  • Address details
  • Phone number
  • Housing information
  • Family information
  • Tax information
  • Income information
  • Tax deduction information
  • Benefits information
  • Membership fee invoice details
6. What sources do we collect personal data from?
  • This information is obtained from the customer or from the service adviser by telephone.
7. Who processes your personal data and with whom we may share your personal data

In the Entrepreneur Fund, the right of the staff to process the personal data of members is determined by the authorisation of use in accordance with this job description.

The Entrepreneur Fund has a call-back service, which sends a phone number and a time to call the cashier by email. This information is deleted immediately after the callback.

We do not make regular transfers. However, we may share your personal data with public authorities. Such sharing is based on law or data protection obligations. The Entrepreneur’s Fund may also share your personal data on the order of a court or similar authority.

8. Do we transfer your personal data outside the EU?

The data will not be disclosed outside the European Union or the European Economic Area.

9. How long do we process your personal data?

As a general rule, call recordings are kept for 12 months and for a reasonable period thereafter. Call recording will be introduced on 10/2023.

10. Data storage and security

At the Entrepreneur’s Fund, information security and the protection of personal data are systematically taken into account in all data use and processing. The Entrepreneur Fund handles all personal data in a secure manner and in accordance with the law’s requirement.

Access to the register is restricted to persons authorised by the controller. Access to data, programmes and systems is restricted by technical means (access rights, user IDs, passwords) only to persons performing the tasks of the unemployment fund. Access to premises where confidential information is processed or archived is only allowed to persons who need access for the performance of their duties. The external doors of the production areas are covered by a control system. Employees are monitored by an access control system. The users of the register are subject to a confidentiality agreement and are therefore not allowed to disclose the information they process.

11. How can you exercise your rights in relation to your personal data?

As a registered user, you have several possibilities to influence the processing of your personal data. We will respond to your requests as soon as possible, and at the latest within one month. If we need more time, we will contact you within one month. Please contact the contact person mentioned in section 2 of this notice to exercise your rights.
Your rights include:

a) Right of access to personal data collected about you

Every member of the Entrepreneur Fund can easily check their own data in the electronic service of the Entrepreneur Fund. eAsioinn also allows you to update your contact details and send a message to the Entrepreneur’s Fund in a secure way.

For other personal data processed, the request can be made by sending an email to tietosuoja@yrittajakassa.fi, where further instructions will be sent. The request for inspection should specify in detail what data the person wishes to inspect and for what period. As a general rule, the request for inspection is free of charge once a year.

b) The right to request rectification of personal data collected about you
If you notice any errors or omissions in your data, you can submit a request for rectification. We recommend that you make your request through the eAccessibility service.

c) The right to request the deletion of personal data collected about you

We are obliged to delete the personal data you have requested from our register if one of the following criteria is met and no other legal or regulatory obligation to retain the data applies:

  • the personal data are no longer needed for the purposes for which they were processed;
  • you withdraw your consent and there is no other lawful basis for the processing;
  • you object to processing on grounds relating to your particular personal situation and there are no legitimate grounds for the processing;
  • the processing of the data is unlawful;

The Entrepreneur Fund may have a legal right to process your personal data even after a certain period of membership.

(d) You have the right to request restriction of the processing of personal data in accordance with Article 18 of the GDPR.

e) The right to transfer your data from one system to another

You have the right to receive the personal data you provide to the Entrepreneur’s Fund in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, and the right to transfer this data to another controller.

f) Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

If a potential disagreement between you and the Entrepreneur’s Fund regarding the processing of your personal data cannot be amicably resolved, you have the right to refer the matter to the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman.

12. Which country’s law applies to the processing?

This personal data file and the processing of personal data contained in it are governed by Finnish law and EU law directly applicable in Finland, such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

13. Changes

We understand the importance of data protection and we strive to stay at the forefront of developments in this area too. This Privacy Policy for the customer call recording system may be amended by the Entrepreneur Fund. Any changes will be published on this page.
