4. Purpose and legal basis for processing personal data

The legal basis for processing personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation is the consent of the individual. For data from public registers, the basis is the legitimate interest of the Fund.

Personal data is used to:

  • for marketing membership of the Entrepreneur Fund’s office
  • for sending newsletters and newsletters
  • for conducting surveys
  • for sending event invitations
  • organising events
  • organising prize draws and sending prizes to the winners of the surveys
  • reaching out to the media and stakeholders
  • for analytical and statistical purposes

The data will not be used for automated decision-making or profiling.

The register contains the following information relating to the natural person:

  • Name
  • Company name
  • Address
  • Email
  • Phone number
  • Name and position in the organisation of the media or stakeholder representative
  • Other information that the data subject may provide
6. Regular sources of information
  • As a rule, we obtain the data directly from the person himself/herself, for example, when he/she registers for an Entrepreneur’s Fund event, subscribes to a newsletter or other information, fills in a contact form in a survey or in any other similar way by providing his/her data to the Entrepreneur’s Fund.
  • Personal data of media and stakeholder representatives are collected from public sources
  • Respondents to the customer survey will enter themselves into the prize draw by filling in the survey contact form.
7. Who processes your personal data and with whom we may share your personal data

The right of the staff of the Entrepreneur’s Fund to process personal data in this register is determined by the authorisation to use the data in accordance with the job description. External service providers authorised by the Entrepreneur Fund may also process personal data to a limited extent. They process data only on behalf of and on behalf of the Entrepreneur’s Fund. The processing is subject to a binding agreement between the parties, which takes into account data protection and confidentiality requirements.

These include Lianatech, Pipedrive and Hubble.

8. Do we transfer your personal data outside the EU?

In principle and as a general rule, data will not be disclosed outside the European Union or the European Economic Area. In some situations, the Entrepreneur’s Bank may use resources and servers located around the world to provide services. As a result, the Entrepreneurial Bank may transfer your personal data outside the country where the services are used and possibly also to countries outside the EU and EEA whose legislation does not offer specific protection of personal data or whose data protection legislation is very different. In these cases, the Entrepreneur Bank will ensure that there is a legal basis for the transfer and that the user’s personal data is adequately protected in accordance with the applicable law, for example by using standard agreements approved by the relevant authorities (where applicable) and by requiring compliance with appropriate technical and practical data protection measures.

9. Principles of register protection

The Entrepreneur’s Fund only collects personal data that is necessary and relevant for the purpose of the processing. The data will not be collected or stored in larger quantities or for longer than is necessary for the purpose in question.

We ensure that your computing equipment is maintained and disposed of safely. Data processing equipment is technically secure and can only be accessed with unique access codes. The computer network and network equipment are protected by a firewall and located in a locked and controlled area. Access to the register is restricted to the necessary employees with user IDs and passwords. Access to premises where confidential data are processed or archived is restricted to persons who need to access the premises in order to carry out their duties. All our employees are bound by confidentiality agreements that prevent the disclosure of information to third parties.

The contracts oblige our subcontractors to protect the data they process in the ways required by the GDPR.

10. Rights of the data subject and exercise of those rights

Under data protection law, you have certain rights to ensure that your privacy, which is a fundamental right, is respected.

We will respond to requests as soon as possible, and within one month at the latest. If we need more time, we will contact you within one month. In the first instance, please contact the Entrepreneur Fund by email at toimitus@yrittajakassa.fi (or tietosuoja@yrittakassa.fi) regarding the exercise of your rights.

The rights you have include:

  1. a) Right of access to personal data processed about you

Every person in the register has the right to check the information stored in the register and to request the correction of any inaccurate or incomplete information. The request for inspection must specify in detail which data you wish to inspect and for what period. As a general rule, the request for inspection is free of charge once a year. The request can be made by sending a message to toimitus@yrittajakassa.fi (or tietosuoja@yrittakassa.fi), where further instructions will be sent.

  1. b) The right to request the rectification of personal data collected about you

If you notice any errors or omissions in your data, you can forward a request for correction of your personal data to the Fund by emailing toimitus@yrittajakassa.fi (or tietosuoja@yrittakassa.fi).

  1. c) The right to request the deletion of personal data collected about you

We are obliged to delete the personal data you have requested from our register if you withdraw your consent, if the processing of your personal data is based on consent. We recommend that you make your request by email to toimitus@yrittajakassa.fi (or tietosuoja@yrittakassa.fi).

  1. d) You can also prohibit the Entrepreneur Fund from sending you marketing messages or newsletters. A link to unsubscribe can be found at the end of each newsletter.
  2. (f) You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you consider that your personal data are being processed in breach of the GDPR.

If a potential disagreement between you and the Fund regarding the processing of your personal data cannot be settled amicably, you have the right to refer the matter to the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman.

If you wish to delete your personal data/information or restrict the processing of your personal data, we recommend that you make a written request by email to toimitus@yrittajakassa.fi (or tietosuoja@yrittakassa.fi).

11. Retention periods for personal data

Data on recipients of newsletters and bulletins are kept as long as the data are relevant for processing or until they are requested to be deleted.

The data of the invitees and participants will be kept for one year.

Contact details of media and stakeholder representatives are kept as long as they are necessary and up-to-date for the processing.

The data of the participants in the prize draw will be kept until the prizes have been sent to the winners of the draw.
