Watch webinars
You can make use of the Helsinki Region Chamber of Commerce’s training platform KoulutusOnline. KoulutusOnline offers webinars on topics such as financial management, taxation, internationalization, labour law, employment relations, management, sales, communications, IT, digital skills, data protection and workplace well-being. You can choose AI subtitles for all courses. The language options are Finnish, Swedish and English.
How to access the training platform
1. Compose a new message in the Messages tab of the eService
2. Select Other as the subject of the conversation and enter KoulutusOnline in the title field.
3. Write us a message saying that you want to access the training platform. In your message, please include the email address to which you would like to receive the link to KoulutusOnline.
By requesting the use of the KoulutusOnline service, you give permission to the Entrepreneur Fund to share your name and e-mail address to the Helsinki Region Chamber of Commerce and at the same time you agree to the Helsinki Region Chamber of Commerce’s Privacy Policy.
The service will initially be available for three months, which can be extended if necessary.
We will organize information sessions on the use of KoulutusOnline on Monday 24 February at 9 a.m. and Thursday 24 April at 3 p.m. Further details about the information sessions will be provided in response to your registration.

Start-up grant
Start-up grants can help entrepreneurs to support themselves. To qualify for start-up grants, you must be a full-time entrepreneur and must not have started your business before applying for a start-up grant. Decisions on start-up grants are made by the employment areas and vary from place to place. Information on start-up grants is available from the Enterprise Finland helpline. You can apply for business financing from your bank. You can apply for a loan or a guarantee for a loan from Finnvera, the special state financial institution. In rural areas, start-up entrepreneurs can also get Leader funding.
Insurances for new entrepreneurs
You have insured yourself for unemployment with the Entrepreneur Fund, excellent!

I need general advice
- Call the Enterprise Finland helpline on 0295 020 500 from 9-16.15 on weekdays.
- Visit Suomi.fi for useful information on entrepreneurship. Services of the labour authority can be found at Job Market Finland.
- If you have been operating your business for less than 3 years, take advantage of the services of the Enterprise agency. After that, municipal development agencies and municipalities provide support for businesses.
- Looking for growth and internationalization? Programmes and services such as KasvuOpen or the TeamFinland network may be helpful to you.
- You can take free courses at Yrittäjät Academy provided by Suomen Yrittäjät.
I need help managing my business finances
- Call the Yrittäjän talousapu councelling service on 0295 024 880 on weekdays from 9am to 4.15pm. From the helpline you will be directed to services such as regional support services or advice from Yrityskummit (only in Finnish)
- Financial advice is also available from the Guarantee Foundation’s Debt Helpline on 080 098 009 (weekdays 10-14) and from the regional financial and debt counselling services of legal aid offices. The Preventive operations unit of the National Enforcement Authority Finland operates on a regional basis.
I need financing
You can apply for financing from your bank or Finnvera. For support in growth and Internationalization you can contact Business Finland.
Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment supports small and medium-sized enterprises in growth and investment, and they also provide advice on financing. Team Finland network’s financing services include grants and funding from Finnvera, Business Finland, Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment, Industrial Investment, Finnfund and Finnpartnership. There is separate Leader funding for rural entrepreneurs.
I want information on selling a business and transfer of ownership
Information on selling your business and changing ownership can be found on Suomi.fi, which will direct you to regional services. Suomen Yrittäjät has produced a guide on changing ownership (Only available in Finnish. Instructions on how to report to the tax authorities are available on the tax authority’s website.
The Federation Business Brokers and Business Transfer Experts in Finland SYVL offers information on transfer of ownership Companies for sale are advertised on sites such as the Yrityspörssi and Firmakauppa.
I need support and networks
Networks for entrepreneurs exist both nationally and regionally. Some networks are sector specific. Suomen Yrittäjät have an extensive network of local societies. Women entrepreneurs also have regional associations. Micro and Solo Entrepreneurs Association (MYRY) offers networking activities for small businesses.
For help with coping with work and crises, entrepreneurs can seek help from services such as the Mental Hub provided by the public health service. The services of Mieli ry help in acute situations. Church services operate regionally and provide counselling.
An entrepreneur whose capacity for work is partially reduced can apply for support from, for example, the employment area, Kela or a pension insurance company (sickness allowance, partial sickness allowance, disability pension, vocational rehabilitation), national health care services and occupational health care services. Information on rehabilitation is available in Finnish and Swedish from Terveyskylä.
